What is TPSS?
The Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op (TPSS) is a natural foods grocery store with two locations, each operating in the interest of its community. We are a cooperative business, owned by our friends and neighborhood residents. The first TPSS Co-op started as a vegetarian storefront on Sligo Avenue in Takoma Park in 1981. In February 1998 we moved to the larger store we now currently occupy on Ethan Allen Avenue. Our second store opened in October 2001 on Grubb Road in Silver Spring.
How to Join 1. Pick up and fill out a membership application at either store location. 2. Deliver the application along with your payment to either co-op location. Membership payments are processed through the register lines. 3. Start using your membership card right away to receive all of your co-op benefits. Your membership fee of $100 is a one-time investment in the TPSS Co-op. Individuals or households pay the same fee. Should you choose to cancel your membership at any time, your investment will be refunded in full. Your fee may be paid in two installments for an additional $5 processing fee. If you are interested in alternative payment plans or have other questions, please speak to or write the Outreach Coordinator, Sherri Collins, at 301-891-2667, or outreach (at) tpss.coop. Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op promotes healthful living by offering wholesome foods, high quality products and community resources in a clean, friendly and cooperative grocery store ... that you own! |
